C Sweets, Desserts from the Executive Suite

C Sweets Dia Satori ThetaAhhh, dessert! A sweet finale or, if you are a bit of a rebel, the prelude to broccoli. Perhaps, eating dessert first is truly excellent advice. . . especially if it is as tasty and delicious as the ones in C Sweets, Desserts from the Executive Suite.

C Sweets is no ordinary cookbook. Yes, it has scrumptious dessert recipes and lovely pictures. It also has extra zest – stories from the women leaders who contributed the recipes. Rather than a collection of recipes from a single kitchen, C Sweets gathered ones from the kitchens of 50 women leaders who shared not only their dessert recipes, but a glimpse into their lives and traditions. Did you know that Ann Bancroft, the polar explorer, raises chickens?

Although, many of the recipes are part of family traditions, the contributors are anything but traditional. These are no ordinary women. They are exceptional leaders in the corporate, political and philanthropic world. They inspire change, give generously and work to improve the quality of life for everyone. And, they still find time to make a lovely dessert for family and friends.

There is poignancy to Chocolate Meringue Pie (Barbara Hensley) when it is a memory of her mother and two sisters who died of breast cancer. Cinnamon Rolls (J. Marie Fieger) and Brown Sugar Cookies (Jennifer Brigham) become a legacy when passed from grandmother to granddaughter.

Then there is Rum Pudding (Susan Marvin), Hot Fudge Sauce (Linda Hall Keller), Berries in the Snow (Robin Kocina), Sweet Potato Pie (Gloria Lewis), Biscuit Tortoni (Deborah Jiang Stein) and Heath Bar Delight (Kim Nelson) that daughters make to remember and honor their mothers.

And love is shared with Chocolate Cherry Cake (Cyndi Lesher), Monkey Bread (Susan Hoff), Bittersweet Chocolate Mousse (Lee Roper-Batker) and the Best Rice Pudding (Kayrita Anderson).

The family photos, simple-to-grand recipes and personal tales from these top executives makes C Sweets beautiful to look at, insightful to read and a perfect addition to any cookbook collection.

Corporate Social Responsibility: A percentage of sales from each book will be donated to a 501(c)3 nonprofit whose mission is focused on the well-being of women and children.
